Erasmus+ Program

Mission

Erasmus+ is the European Union (EU) education, training, youth and sport program for 2014-2020 adopted by the European Parliament on November 19, 2013. The budget for seven years is 14.7 billion euros.

Erasmus+ reflects the priorities of the EU Economic Development Strategy Europe 2020 and its flagship initiatives.

Basic goals:

  • development of mobility and cooperation in the field of education, training and youth, and sports at the international level;
  • improving the working skills of people regardless of age and experience and increasing their chances of employment;
  • improving the quality and attractiveness of European higher education;
  • modernizing education, training, youth and sports systems in Europe and beyond;
  • developing the ability of young people to actively participate in society;
  • promotion of the European dimension in the program areas.

Erasmus+ brings together seven European and international programs such as

the Lifelong Learning Programme, Youth in Action, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus,

Alpha, Edulink and the country cooperation program implemented during the

7th EU Framework Program for scientific and technological cooperation (2007-2013).

For the first time, support is provided for mass sports development projects. The comprehensiveness of Erasmus+ provides more opportunities for cooperation in all areas of its activities, as well as simplifies the rules for participation and funding.

Funding is allocated for the following activities:

  • international mobility of students and teachers employed in the areas of the program: education, learning new skills, internships and volunteer work abroad, international youth exchanges;
  • establishment of transnational partnerships of state and non-state educational, training and youth institutions, strengthening cooperation and exchange of knowledge and innovations between them;
  • reforming national systems of education, training and youth;
  • expanding knowledge on European integration issues, including teaching, introducing innovative methods to increase the attractiveness of the EU subject area and political discussions with representatives of science;
  • development of mass sports and physical activity.

Participants of Erasmus+ projects must be residents of the Program Countries: EU Member States, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, etc. In addition, depending on the rules of each event, countries can also use the opportunities provided by the program -partners: non-European, mostly EU neighbors, including Russia.

Potential Erasmus+ participants fall into two categories:

1) Participating organizations - state and non-state organizations operating in all areas of education, training, youth development and sports: schools, universities, vocational education institutions, youth, charitable institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs, etc.

2) Participants - students, trainees, trainees, apprentices, adult learners, youth workers, volunteers, professors, teachers, trainers, youth workers, specialists in education, vocational training, training, youth and sports, etc.
