On Wednesday, November 1st, a dozen students from Comrat State University and local high schools attended a Halloween event hosted at the University's American Center. Their host was Tigran Demurjian, this year's Fulbright scholar and Teaching Assistant, who welcomed students to celebrate the unofficial American holiday of Halloween.
As per Halloween tradition, students came dressed in costumes, with a handful of pirates, vampires, and movie characters in attendance. Tigran led a presentation about the history and origins of Halloween and the Day of the Dead, a Mexican holiday popular in the USA. Activities included pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, and watching Halloween-themed movies in English.
