Meeting at KSU with representatives of the US Embassy in Moldova

On July 14, at the Comrat State University, a meeting was held between representatives of the US Embassy in the Republic of Moldova and the administration of KSU. The delegation of the American embassy included cultural attache of the US embassy Brian Asmus and public relations specialist Tamara Tsurkan. Comrat State University was represented by the rector of KSU, doctor, university conference speaker Sergey Zakharia and vice-rector for science and international relations, doctor, university conference speaker Sofia Sulak.

Discussion of further cooperation within the Fulbright English Teaching Assitants Program (Fulbright English Teaching Assitants Program) was the main topic of the meeting.

Rector of KSU Sergey Zakharia noted that the university is actively engaged in international activities, takes part in internationalization programs and the subject of the meeting will allow discussing issues of cooperation, education and mobility of students and teachers.

Brian Asmus said that this year, as in previous years, an English language teaching assistant, the Fulbright English Teaching Assitants Program from the USA, will arrive at Comrat University in September, and also said that within the framework of the partnership, Chisinau a large group of specialists in the field of modern information technologies will come and the US Embassy in the Republic of Moldova can send some specialists from this program to Comrat State University, which will allow the exchange of knowledge and experience.

Sergei Zakharia noted the importance of developing the IT sector, especially within the framework of the TEKWILL center, where groups of different ages are trained. The rector also noted that our university is ready for cooperation, the main thing is that it does not contradict the principles of the university and the state, drawing the attention of the meeting participants to the fact that education for Comrat University is out of politics. For KSU, cooperation is important, which concerns education, science, youth, and students.

The university is interested in the fact that students and specialists in different fields can go and see the world, study the culture, art, literature and language of various peoples and states, take part in exchange programs, internationalization, which are of great importance today when passing accreditation.

During the discussion, the parties came to an agreement to continue cooperation and agreed to consider the possibility of participation of teachers in the exchange of experience program in the United States, as well as the mutual exchange of academic knowledge and experience of staff.
