On March 3, 2020, a webinar on Developing communication skills and confidence" was organized for master students of the Department of Foreign Languages in the specialty "Teaching German languages in pre-university institutions". The undergraduate students and teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages joined the session too. The facilitator of the webinar was Kaya Coban, the Education Advisor, supported by the US Embassy in the Republic of Moldova.

The participants of the webinar discussed issues related to effective communication techniques. It was noted that successful communication depends on the ability to be sincere, express oneself clearly and distinctly, on being polite, consistent and positive. Issues related to non-verbal means of communication were also discussed. The participants also focused on the problem of creating a foreign language atmosphere during foreign language lessons by means of online techniques. The students came to the conclusion that it is more difficult to organize online communication than in real mode, as the organization of effective online communication takes time. Successful communication depends on many factors, such as the age of students, the type of personality (introvert/extrovert), as well as the level of foreign language proficiency.

At the end of the seminar, all participants were awarded certificates.
