In the framework of the VI th International Scientific Conference “Actual Problems of Linguistics and Linguodidactics in the Context of Modern Approaches” by Foreign Languages Department there was held a workshop by L. Terry Daugherty, US TESOL Instructor and Virtual Lecturer VE (Moldova). The title of the workshop was “Creativity and Purposeful Instruction. Teachers’ Tools and Tips”. It was an online activity and took place on the 2nd of December, 2022.
The workshop was based on Creativity and Its Place in Education. The roots of a creative society are in basic education. The US TESOL Instructor, L. Terry Daugherty, helped English Language teachers explore and understand: the role of creativity and innovation in teaching and learning, the importance of developing classroom and school environments that can bring out the best in teachers and students, and methods for making classrooms more engaging places for creativity. The event showed how it is important to teach creativity, what place creativity should have in our education system.
The participants of this workshop had possibility to see what creativity looks like. They found out about the most powerful way to develop creativity in students. It is to be a role model. Children develop creativity not when you tell them to, but when you show them.
Summing up, we would like to mention that everyone found this workshop useful, informative and captivating. We are grateful for the organizers. In the end all the participants got certificates for their participation.
