Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) hosted academic staff and business representatives to participate in an international seminar and conference as part of the UniClaD project

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) (Baku, Azerbaijan) hosted academic staff and business representatives from September 30 to October 4, 2024, to participate in an international seminar and conference as part of the project "Enhancing the Capacity of Universities to Participate in Cluster Development Based on Innovation and Sustainability Principles" (UniClaD), ERASMUS+KA2 No 609944-EPP-1-2019-1-LT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), implemented under the European Union’s Erasmus+ KA2 program. The events were attended by over 20 higher education institutions and production enterprises from Italy, Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Austria, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan, all members of the UniClaD project consortium. During the seminar, the activities of the expert centers established within the project were discussed, covering areas such as "IT technologies in agriculture," "Agro-tourism," "Dairy production and processing," "Agrobiotechnologies," their development potential, and opportunities for cluster growth. Additionally, best practices from European Union partners were presented on relevant topics. During the seminar and conference, consortium members discussed the results regarding the quality assessment of the UniClaD project and its sustainability. Comrat State University (CSU) was represented by: Rector of CSU, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Serghei Zaharia, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs of CSU, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Svetlana Ghenova, and UniClaD project coordinator from CSU, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Liudmila Fedotova. On the first day of joint work, , Assoc. Prof., Dr., Liudmila Fedotova presented a report on the outcomes of CSU's expert center, which has become a platform for innovation and cooperation between science and business. The presentation detailed the experience of establishing and operating the center, its role in the development of CSU and the UTA Gagauzia region (Republic of Moldova). Special attention was given to the mechanisms of student engagement in research activities and partnerships with international organizations. Following the universities’ presentations, a lively discussion took place, during which the UniClaD project team partners shared their ideas on the further development of clusters in the Republic of Moldova and worldwide. The CSU team, led by Rector Assoc. Prof., Dr., Serghei Zaharia, discussed future scientific projects with representatives from other universities, opening new perspectives for CSU’s development and strengthening its international reputation.
