ON FEBRUARY 6-8, THE ION CREANGĂ STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY HOSTED THE 2ND EXPERT SEMINAR "GRADUATE EMPLOYABILITY TRACKING: EU AND MOLDOVA’S EXPERIENCE" AND THE CONSORTIUM MEETING OF THE UPGRADE PROJECT

On February 6-8, 2025, the 2nd expert seminar Tracking Graduates’ Employability: Experience of the European Union and the Republic of Moldova and the working meeting of the UPGRADE project consortium (Enhancing Graduates’ Employability Tracking in Moldova, Ref. No.: 101129166), funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, took place at Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University. The seminar and consortium meeting were attended by the project coordinator and members of the working team: Assoc. Prof., PhD Tatiana RACOVCENA, Assoc. Prof., PhD Maria IANIOGLO, and Assoc. Prof., PhD Nadejda IANIOGLO. During the 2nd expert seminar, the results of a pilot survey on graduates' career paths conducted at partner universities in the Republic of Moldova were presented. Quantitative and qualitative aspects of data analysis, identified challenges, and recommendations for improving monitoring were discussed. Additionally, national and international practices of graduate employability tracking were reviewed, including mechanisms used in European universities. On the second day of the seminar, discussions focused on building sustainable academic connections between universities and their graduates, as well as developing a national platform for employment monitoring. The event concluded with a panel discussion and a job fair, where new trends in graduate employment were explored. During the consortium’s working meeting, key areas of work were discussed, including the development of tools and methodologies for tracking graduates’ careers, improving national legislative regulations in this field, and reforming university monitoring mechanisms. Representatives of partner universities presented reports on the project’s current progress, while issues of financial management, quality assurance, and grant compliance control were also addressed. The second day of the event was dedicated to regular internal evaluations, project dissemination, and strategies for maximizing its impact.
