Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, zonal conferences were organized from May 23 to June 3, 2025, covering four territorial zones. The 2025 zonal conferences aimed to support national system libraries in implementing professional initiatives developed for the reporting year by studying representative experiences, focusing on innovations in professional activities, and improving partnership relations.
The conference addressed aspects of library activities such as:
- Continuous professional development in the digital age;
- Culture and heritage — imperatives of the digital future;
- Innovation, resilience, and sustainability — librarians' contribution to community development.
- 2025 — Year of Mihai Eminescu in the Republic of Moldova. Enhancing the image of libraries and librarians in society;
- Promotion of European values — a constant in long-term activities
Public and university libraries from the Southern zone of our republic participated in the conference. Janna Garceva, Head of the Scientific Library of Comrat State University, presented a report and presentation on "The Scientific Library of Comrat State University (CSU) in the Context of Educational Digitalization". In her presentation, Janna Garceva emphasized the importance of integrating library resources into the educational process, highlighting the role of the CSU Scientific Library as an active participant in the university's digital transformation. She discussed ongoing projects on the digitalization of educational resources, the implementation of electronic databases, and the enhancement of digital literacy among CSU students and faculty. Special attention was given to the library's collaboration with other university departments and the expansion of access to scientific information through modern technologies. The participation of the CSU Scientific Library in the zonal conference is significant as it allows not only the presentation of accumulated experience and innovative approaches in library activities but also the establishment of professional connections, exchange of ideas with colleagues, and obtaining expert evaluations of implemented initiatives. This contributes to the further development of the library as a center of information support and digital competence within the CSU.
