On June 3, 2025, Comrat State University hosted the presentation of a book by Doctor of History, writer, chief editor of the magazines Sabaa Yıldızı and Güneşçik, public and political figure Stepan Bulgar – "100 Gagauzians – Figures of Culture and Science, Outstanding Personalities in the History of the 19th–20th Centuries". This fundamental work brings together articles about the lives and activities of both well-known individuals and those whose names will become known to the broader public for the first time thanks to the author.

The event was attended by: the Rector, Assoc. Prof., PhD Serghei Zaharia, Doctor of History Piotr Pașalı, students and lecturers of Comrat State University, students of the M. Çakir College, city librarians, and public figures.

In his speech, the Rector of Comrat State University, Doctor of History, Assoc. Prof., PhD Serghei ZAHARIA, highly praised the contribution of Stepan Bulgar, Doctor of History and senior researcher at the Maria Marunevici Scientific Research Center of Gagauzia, to the study and popularization of Gagauz history. He specifically emphasized the importance of this work for the younger generation and highlighted the need for further research into the history of the Gagauz people through archives and scientific studies published both in our country and far beyond its borders. The Rector said: "I take the work of Stepan Bulgar very seriously – his academic and research activity is of enormous importance for preserving and developing Gagauz culture and history."

He also expressed gratitude and support to authors who work on preserving the Gagauz language and traditions, and who research the history and culture of the Gagauz people. Serghei Zaharia thanked Stepan Bulgar for his scientific and educational efforts, including his publications dedicated to outstanding Gagauz figures in the fields of culture and science.

Doctor of History Piotr Pașalı remarked: "Flipping through the new book by Dr. Stepan Bulgar, we are once again convinced that the Gagauz people have many talented poets, writers, painters, musicians, and scholars of the past and present, united by their love for their people. In this new publication, S. Bulgar introduced us to new names, and for this the author deserves special thanks. The Gagauz people have not only 100 but many more role models. It is important to know them, research their works, speak about them, and remember them."

The author, Stepan BULGAR, shared how the book was created – how he worked in archives in different countries, participated in numerous scientific expeditions, and met with descendants of Gagauzians who had long left their homeland. He spoke fascinatingly about the lives of the book's heroes – representatives of the Gagauz people who achieved significant success in their respective fields.

The research conducted by Stepan Bulgar that forms the basis of this book is of great importance for studying the authentic history of the Gagauz people, for strengthening their identity, fostering patriotism among youth, and building a sense of pride in one’s heritage.

The staff of the Scientific Library prepared a personal exhibition of the works of Dr. Stepan Bulgar.
