Comrat State University Successfully Hosts a Dynamic International Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Week, Strengthening Global Ties

From May 5 to 9, 2025, Comrat State University (CSU) warmly hosted the International Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Week, fostering an atmosphere of active dialogue and fruitful exchange of experience. This significant event brought together 17 academic and administrative representatives from six prestigious universities in the Republic of Türkiye: Bursa Technical University, Çankırı Karatekin University, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Necmettin Erbakan University, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, and Pamukkale University.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in an intensive program featuring a series of informative sessions that addressed key aspects of international education development and partnerships:

  • 1st Session: Future of the Erasmus+ Mobilities and Partnerships in an Increasingly Digital World (Claudia Melinte, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova). The discussion focused on the transformation of academic mobility in the digital era and the prospects for partnership development in this new context.
  • 2nd Session: Applied Behavior Analysis in the Context of Behavior Management in the Educational Process (Prof. Dr. Şerife YÜCESOY ÖZKAN, Faculty of Education, Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Türkiye). This session sparked active interest and promoted the exchange of advanced pedagogical practices.
  • 3rd Session: International Cooperation Opportunities between Türkiye and Moldova (Dr. Kudret Safa GÜMÜŞ, International Relations Coordinator between CSU and Türkiye). An overview of existing academic and scientific collaboration opportunities between the two countries was presented, encouraging participants to seek new joint initiatives.

The key element of the program was the delivery of lectures by Turkish professors for CSU students. These sessions offered students unique insights, expanded their academic horizons, and fostered direct connections with international colleagues. Meanwhile, the guests from Türkiye had the opportunity to explore Moldova's higher education system, discuss current issues with local faculty, and share experiences in various academic fields.

In addition to the educational component, the guests enjoyed a rich cultural program showcasing the heritage of Gagauzia and Moldova. A highlight was the visit to the traditional spring festival Hederlez, where guests experienced the authentic spirit of Gagauz customs and traditions. Another notable moment was the visit to the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Turkish Library in Comrat, a symbol of cultural ties between the two nations. Participants also visited the Beşalma village museum, gaining insight into the history and ethnography of the Gagauz people.

Special attention was given to strengthening diplomatic relations between Türkiye and the Republic of Moldova. A key moment was the meeting with the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Comrat, Mr. Adnan Hayal, during which prospects for further cooperation in the fields of education and culture were discussed.

The intensive week concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony. The Rector of Comrat State University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serghei Zaharia, personally expressed his gratitude to each participant for their active engagement and presented official certificates of successful program completion.

Comrat State University extends sincere thanks to all participants of the International Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Week for their enthusiasm, openness to dialogue, and valuable contribution to strengthening international cooperation. We also express our deep appreciation to our partner universities from Türkiye for their productive collaboration and look forward to further strengthening our ties. Events of this kind are vital for the internationalization of education, sharing of best practices, and building strong bridges of friendship between our countries and academic communities. We are confident that this experience will lay a solid foundation for future joint initiatives and projects.
