From May 5 to 11, 2025, eight master’s students from the Faculty of National Culture, Department of Gagauz Philology and History, specializing in “Teaching Gagauz Language and Literature in Pre-University Educational Institutions” at Comrat State University, took part in the prestigious academic program Balıkesir University Turkic World Mobility Program, hosted by Balıkesir University (Balıkesir city, Republic of Türkiye).
During their visit to Balıkesir University (Balıkesir Üniversitesi), the students met with the university's rector — Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu. The event was also attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet Avcıkurt and Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, the General Coordinator for International Relations Assoc. Prof. Dr. İhsan Kısadere, and the Director of the School of Foreign Languages Dr. Halil Küçükler.
Throughout the week, the students actively participated in lectures, seminars, and workshops held at the Necatibey Faculty of Education (Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi), under the guidance of experienced faculty members. They deepened their knowledge in pedagogy and explored modern educational methods used in Türkiye. The program fostered exchange of experience and knowledge with Turkish students, established professional contacts with university faculty, and encouraged open discussions on current methodological issues in teaching the Gagauz and other Turkic languages.
An important part of the academic mobility was the cultural program, through which the participants had the opportunity to discover the rich historical and cultural heritage of Balıkesir and Türkiye. At the end of the program, all students received participation certificates acknowledging their active engagement in both educational and cultural activities.

We are grateful for the opportunity given to our students to be part of this significant international initiative. Participation in such projects highlights the importance of academic cooperation within the Turkic world, strengthens cultural and educational ties, contributes to the development of future educators, and opens new horizons for inter-university collaboration. We are confident that the partnership between Comrat State University and Balıkesir University will continue and benefit both sides.
