Scientific Research Monitoring of the Health of Students at Comrat State University, Republic of Moldova
As part of the implementation of the international project UNI HEALTH – Academic Partnership for Improving the Health of Youth with Health Disorders and Special Needs (Project code: KA 220-HED-47/05-10-2023), and in accordance with the Bilateral Cooperation Agreement between South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushinsky (Ukraine) and Comrat State University (Republic of Moldova, ATU Gagauzia), the second stage of scientific research monitoring of the health of CSU students was conducted from May 14 to 18, 2025.
The aim of the research was to study the dynamics of students' health under the influence of regular and purposeful physical education, as well as within the context of everyday academic and extracurricular activities.
The stud was conducted by:
- Angela Polevaia-Secăreanu, Prof., PhD — Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor at CSU, International Master of Sports;
- Alexander Bosenco — Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, PhD in Biology, Professor at the Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Biology and Health Protection of South Ukrainian NPU named after Ushinsky.
The monitoring program included a wide range of traditional and modern diagnostic methods: assessment of physical development and fitness, functional state of the cardiorespiratory, motor, and central nervous systems. A novelty of the 2025 stage was the introduction of the Fazagrof method, which allows for rapid and objective assessment of heart rate variability and the functioning of regulatory mechanisms. This indicator serves not only as a measure of physical load but also as a marker of psycho-emotional state (e.g., stress index), which is especially relevant for youth. The obtained results will serve as a basis for recommendations on optimizing the educational process and promoting health-preserving behavior among students. As part of the academic exchange, on May 15, 2025, Professor A. I. Bosenco gave a public lecture on the topic: “Non-invasive Methods for Assessing the Health of Children and Youth.” The lecture aroused great interest among students and received high praise from the teaching staff.
