INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY OF CSU STUDENTS AND STAFF WITHIN THE UNI HEALTH PROJECT AT ÇANAKKALE ONSEKIZ MART UNIVERSITY

From July 9 to 14, 2025, in Çanakkale (Turkey), a key event (Summer School) took place as part of the international project UNI HEALTH – Academic Partnership for Health Improvement of Youth with Health Disorders and Special Needs (KA220-HED-47/05-10-2023), funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme.

As part of the academic mobility component of the project, seven students from the target group, representing three faculties of Comrat State University, participated in the international educational programme “Health, Wellness, and Sport”. The CSU delegation was led by:

  • Oxana Сurteva, PhD in Education, Associate Professor, project coordinator;
  • Angela Polevaia-Secăreanu, PhD in Education, Associate Professor, International Master of Sports in Judo, lecturer in the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology.

Students and academic staff from educational institutions in nine countries participated in the Summer School: Bulgaria, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, Serbia, and Estonia.

The programme covered a wide range of topics aimed at developing students' knowledge and competencies in healthy lifestyles, sustainable development, and inclusive education.

Particular attention was given to the lectures and seminars presented by CSU staff:

  • Oxana Сurteva delivered an interactive lecture on "Proper nutrition based on the food pyramid, balanced menus, and the metabolic plate", concluding with a practical task where participants assembled their own plates from given food options and explained their choices, followed by a short quiz via Pliskers.
  • Angela Polevaia-Secăreanu held an interactive lecture on "Gymnastics and fitness programmes for students with special health needs."

The programme also addressed topics such as active tourism, the role of sports in social inclusion, Paralympic practices, and European initiatives for improving youth nutrition and wellbeing.

On July 11, Angela Polevaia-Secăreanu led a practical seminar in which CSU students actively demonstrated various physical activities. They showcased exercises from Eastern wellness gymnastics, elements of fitness programmes, and a performance in Chanbara (Japanese swordsmanship), reflecting both their physical readiness and creative approach to adaptive movement practices. CSU students also engaged in friendly competitions with peers from other universities, displaying excellent physical preparation, coordination, and team spirit.

The participation of CSU students in this project contributed to:

  • expanding academic horizons;
  • improving knowledge in health and physical activity;
  • strengthening intercultural ties and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

The UNI HEALTH project continues its activities, offering students and teachers opportunities for further training, knowledge exchange, and participation in international research initiatives. CSU is actively integrating into the European educational space, strengthening its position as a modern university focused on quality and inclusion.
