On October 31, 2024, the second informational seminar under the project "UPGRADE - Enhancing Graduates’ Employability Tracking in Moldova" (Ref. No.: 101129166), funded by the European Union Erasmus+ CBHE program, took place at Comrat State University (CSU). The seminar was attended by the members of Comrat State University responsible for marketing and career orientation work across departments and faculties, as well as the project coordinator and team members: Tatiana RACOVCHENA, Alla LEVITSKAIA, Svetlana CURAXINA, Maria IANIOGLO, Raisa COVRICOVA, Natalia NACHIOGLO, and Nadejda IANIOGLO. The seminar was opened with a welcoming speech by the project coordinator, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Tatiana RACOVCHENA. The coordinator emphasized that the seminar would provide participants with an opportunity to learn about best practices and tools that can be applied to improve existing tools for enhancing the quality of education, tracking employment, and adapting graduates to the labor market requirements. Tatiana RACOVCHENA also mentioned that the project team members had visited the "1 Decembrie 1918" University in Alba Iulia (Romania), where they studied best practices in graduate employment tracking. This exchange of experiences not only contributes to the implementation of effective tools for tracking graduates’ career paths but also plays a key role in integrating the best international practices into Republic of Moldova's higher education system. Dr., conf. univ., Nadejda IANIOGLO, at CSU, in her report "Analysis of the Dynamics of the Higher Education Market and Existing Tools for Tracking Graduate Employment in the Republic of Moldova," discussed the current trends in the country’s higher education system. The presentation included the dynamics of students and graduates, employment of graduates by field of study, and the challenges faced by graduates when entering the labor market. She also highlighted employment tracking tools in Moldova, planned for implementation by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova. The speaker stressed that successful graduate adaptation requires improved cooperation between universities and employers. She emphasized the importance of analyzing statistics and feedback from graduates to better predict labor market needs and develop educational programs accordingly. In her report, Dr., conf. univ., Maria IANIOGLO, presented an analysis of the regulatory framework of CICOC (Career Information and Counseling Center for Graduates) at the "1 Decembrie 1918" University in Alba Iulia, regarding the monitoring of the graduate employment process. She discussed the legal acts and rules governing the employment tracking process at this university, as well as the system that ensures effective monitoring of graduates' career paths. The speaker focused on the role of CICOC in maintaining a connection between the university and employers and in supporting graduates at all stages of their careers. She explained how the CICOC regulatory framework helps establish a clear structure for collecting employment data and how these data are used to improve curricula and align them with labor market needs. Dr., conf. univ., Svetlana CURAXINA, shared the experience of monitoring graduate employment and careers at the "1 Decembrie 1918" University, with an emphasis on the use of IT tools. Dr., conf. univ., Svetlana CURAXINA detailed how IT tools help collect information on the career achievements of university graduates and allow timely responses to labor market needs. The speaker presented several examples of IT solutions used at "1 Decembrie 1918" University that could be useful for CSU and other Republic of Moldova universities to improve employment tracking systems and strengthen alumni relations. Dr., conf. univ., Raisa COVRICOVA and Head of the Quality Management and Educational Process Department at CSU, Natalia NACHIOGLO, presented the research «Benchmark Report on Best Practices in Monitoring HE Graduates' Employability». The research was developed by Republic of Moldova partner universities of the UPGRADE project. The research analyzed practices used in various countries, which helped identify the most effective tools and strategies for tracking graduate employment and strengthening the links between universities and the labor market. The speakers focused on identifying effective methods applied in different countries and their potential adaptation for Republic of Moldova. Inna ZLATOVCHENA, Director of the Career Growth and Lifelong Education Center at CSU, presented information about the university's experience in monitoring graduate employment. In her report, she discussed the methods and tools used by the university to track graduates' career paths, as well as the problems and results achieved during this process. At the conclusion of the seminar, the participants highlighted the importance of intensifying efforts to adapt successful international strategies in graduate career tracking to the conditions of the Republic of Moldova and improving existing tools to enhance the quality of education and youth employment.
