The IRO4ALL Project – “Strengthening International Relations Offices in Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Moldova for Further Integration into the European Higher Education Area (EHEA)”

The IRO4ALL project aims to strengthen the institutional capacities of universities in the Republic of Moldova in the field of internationalisation, in line with European policies and practices. The project is implemented with the support of the European Union under the Erasmus+ 2021–2027 programme, priority ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE-STRAND-1, and contributes to the integration of the Moldovan higher education system into the European Higher Education Area. Project implementation period: 01.11.2025 – 31.10.2027 (24 months). Project reference number: 101236980. Through active cooperation between partner institutions from the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, the IRO4ALL project seeks to professionalise International Relations Offices (IROs), modernise institutional processes and develop the competences of staff involved in international activities. The project facilitates the transfer of European best practices and supports the sustainable and inclusive development of internationalisation in higher education
The main objectives of the project include:
• Analysing European policies and practices related to inclusive and sustainable internationalisation of higher education;
• Training staff of international relations offices and other structures involved in international cooperation to acquire modern competences required for European collaboration;
• Strengthening institutional policies, processes and structures that support the integration of the European dimension into teaching, learning and research;
• Developing practical tools for curriculum internationalisation, academic mobility and inter-university cooperation.
Expected main results:
• Development of a comprehensive training package on European internationalisation strategies and best practices;
• Well-prepared IRO staff capable of effectively implementing internationalisation processes at institutional level;
• Updated internal regulations and procedures supporting the European integration of universities;
• Development of promotional materials and an electronic platform to increase the visibility of internationalisation efforts;
• Preparation of project proposals within Erasmus+ KA1 (mobility) and KA2 (capacity building in higher education) actions.
The project consortium includes five universities from the Republic of Moldova and three universities from the European Union (Spain, Romania and Czech Republic). The project is coordinated by the Technical University of Moldova as the grant holder. The participation of Comrat State University offers significant opportunities to strengthen international activities, learn from European best practices and deepen cooperation with EU partners
