On May 15, 2025, a public lecture was held at the Faculty of Economics of Comrat State University (CSU), organized as part of a private volunteer project by Thierry and Jacqueline DUBOIS (Belgium). The lecture was supported and recommended by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Brussels (Consul Mrs. Victoria Eșanu) and the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission (Mr. Adrien Olszac). Guests of the Faculty of Economics were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Assoc. prof., Dr. Liudmila Todoric, who emphasized that such open lectures are important for establishing partnership and friendly relations with foreign partners and expanding the horizons of students and faculty through discussions and communication within the framework of the Public Lecture’s topic. During the lecture, students and faculty of Comrat State University (including representatives from the Law, Agricultural Technology, and National Culture Faculties) were introduced to the unique life experience of the Dubois family, who shared their views on the development of democracy in Europe and its key principles. The volunteer lecturers addressed important aspects of the modern world, stressing the need for cooperation in the development of democratic institutions and the unacceptability of dictatorial rule by one individual in society. One of the most significant topics of the lecture was the importance of education and self-development for the younger generation. The lecturers highlighted the need for continuous learning and the importance of studying scientifically-based sources of information for making informed decisions. Special attention was given to the idea of unity among people in the democratic society of Western Europe, founded on the exchange of cultural values, languages, customs, and traditions. This vision was presented as an important component of a peaceful and economically developed future for Europe. The lecture was conducted in English, which was particularly important for enhancing the language skills of the attendees. CSU students actively participated in the Q&A session and also left feedback on the content and usefulness of the Public Lecture
