Round table: digital technologies in agriculture — science and practice

On 13 October 2026, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Comrat State University held a round table on «Digital technologies in the spatial monitoring of soil erosion and the assessment of spatial variability in winter wheat cultivation».

The event was opened by Serghei Cara, Doctor Habilitatus, Associate Professor and Acting Dean of CSU’s Faculty of Agricultural Technology. In his welcoming address, he highlighted the relevance of introducing digital technologies into modern agriculture, the importance of interaction between science and practice, and the need to integrate applied research findings into the educational process. Particular attention was paid to training future specialists capable of applying modern scientific advances to address pressing challenges in agricultural production.

The invited expert was Alexandru Muntean, Acting Head of the Department of Soil Science and Agrochemistry at the public institution IP INCAAMV.

During the meeting, participants discussed the impact of soil erosion on crop yields, the use of ground-based and remote monitoring, and the potential of digital technologies to assess soil conditions and spatial variability in winter wheat yields. Particular attention was given to a practical example of remote monitoring at SC Real Produs SRL.

The round table provided a platform for exchanging scientific and practical experience, expanding the professional knowledge of students and teaching staff, and strengthening cooperation between Comrat State University and IP INCAAMV under their cooperation agreement.

Modern technologies, scientific research and quality education are the foundation of sustainable agricultural development!
