Scientific Research Monitoring of the Health of Students of Comrat State University within the Framework of the International Project UNI HEALTH

 

From March 27 to 30, 2025, at Comrat State University, a scientific research monitoring of the health status of CSU students was conducted as part of the international project UNI HEALTH – Academic Partnership for Improving the Health of Youth with Health Disorders and Special Needs (KA 220-HED-47/05-10-2023).

Research Objective:
The study aims at a comprehensive analysis of the physical and functional state of students to identify factors affecting their health, as well as to familiarize students with the program of upcoming physical fitness and wellness activities aimed at improving their functional abilities and overall health condition.

Research Tasks:

  1. Assess the physical condition of students through the diagnosis of their physical activity levels and functional indicators.
  2. Study the impact of physical activity on the overall health status of students, including those with health disorders, and develop recommendations to enhance their physical activity levels.
  3. Introduce students to the basics of a healthy lifestyle and propose a program of upcoming physical fitness and wellness activities.

Students from three faculties of CSU participated in the scientific research. Most of the participants formed a focus group actively involved in achieving the project’s objectives. To ensure effective monitoring under the project conditions, an expert was invited—Mr. Anatoliy Ivanovich Bosenko, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Candidate of Biological Sciences, and Professor of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Biology, and Health Protection at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after Ushinsky. Together with Assoc. Prof., PhD, Angela Polevaia-Secăreanu and project working group member, the research was conducted, assessing the physical condition of students in the experimental and control groups by diagnosing their physical activity levels and functional indicators. Additionally, as part of this study, a memorandum was signed between Comrat State University and the State Institution "South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushinsky" (Odesa, Ukraine). The memorandum signing was attended by the First Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof., PhD, Gheorghe Sult and the Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations of CSU, Assoc. Prof., PhD, Svetlana Ghenova. The signing of this agreement was the result of fruitful negotiations between representatives of the two universities. The Vice-Rector for Research, Svetlana Genova, emphasized the importance and relevance of this international cooperation in improving the health of student youth. The Professor of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Biology, and Health Protection highlighted the significance of cooperation in strengthening international ties and developing educational and sports programs. He also added that this partnership opens new opportunities for the development of academic mobility, the improvement of educational programs, and the strengthening of physical fitness and wellness traditions. The UNI HEALTH project coordinator, Assoc. Prof., PhD, Oxana Curteva, noted that joint projects and experience exchange will serve as the foundation for long-term and productive relationships between universities. Cooperation between higher education institutions will not only enable the implementation of joint projects but also strengthen friendly relations between Ukraine and Moldova, contributing to the further development of education, science, and sports in both countries.

It is worth noting that the scientific research group includes three experts:

  • Anatoli Bosenko, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Biology, and Health Protection at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after Ushinsky.
