
On January 4th, 2024, the open meeting of the Department of Economics took place, on the issue of beginning of implementation of the project “dEsigNing gReen tourIsm Concepts tHrough lEaRning” (ENRICHER hubs – project) ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-2. The grant holder of the project is Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland); the international project coordinator is Nora Lappalainen. The duration of the project is 36 months from 01/01/2024 to 12/31/2026.
The aim of the ENRICHER Hubs project is implementation of beneficial transition to accelerate the recovery of the European tourism industry by identifying the mismatch of skills and competencies between higher education institutions and the labor market in this field of activity. This would do so by enhancing the capacity of universities related to the development of green tourism services and updating the training program to better meet the industry needs of future specialists in the tourism industry.
The project facilitates the solution of two priorities: the mismatch of higher education with labor market needs and the need for new green service concepts that enhance sustainability.

Rector of KSU, PhD, Associate Professor Zaharia S.С. congratulated the Department of Economics on the launch of the new project. The dean of the Faculty of Economics, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Todorici L.P. noted the importance of the project for the university and for the further accreditation of the “Tourism, Hotel Services and Leisure” program. The acting head of the Department of Economics Musca S.F. made the presentation of the project.
Project coordinator from KSU, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Ghenova S.I. presented the working group of the project. The project participants were acquainted with the order on the creation of the working group of the project, number 321-A dated December 26, 2023, as well as with the preliminary plan of project activities.
The first meeting of the project partners is scheduled for January 11, 2024 and will be held online. During the meeting the work packages, the project budget will be presented together with all types of activities that would need to be implemented in the short term by leading project experts and project participants who will be involved in the process of implementing the tasks defined within the work packages (WP).
