The professors of Comrat State University joined the unique project “Sustainability Thinking,” which is part of the Erasmus+ ENRICHER - hubs initiative – Designing Green Tourism Concepts through Learning

As part of the Erasmus+ project, Programme: Capacity Building (CBHE, Strand 2) - ENRICHER - hubs initiative – Designing Green Tourism Concepts through Learning, a series of training sessions on developing green tourism concepts through learning took place in Kutaisi (Georgia). The Comrat State University team was represented by: Doctor hab., Professor Alla Levitskaia and Doctor hab., Assoc. prof.,  Natalia Shchukina. The training sessions started on October 1, 2024, at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Kutaisi (Georgia) and concluded on October 4, 2024. On the first day, at the beginning of the intensive work, the Rector, Doctor, Associate Professor Shalva Kirtadze, delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting the importance and necessity of cooperation among partner universities in the direction of sustainable development and service design in the tourism business. The Rector wished all participants in the intensive training program fruitful work. The topics of the sessions in the intensive training program included an introduction to the specifics of the studied subject and the importance of tourism development, the history of sustainability and its models, as well as the impact of sustainability on tourism. Within the framework of the project, faculty members from partner universities in Georgia and the Republic of Moldova underwent intensive training, which helped improve knowledge and exchange best practices in sustainable tourism, develop innovative approaches to learning, and enhance competencies in service and business design methods. Throughout the four-day training, participants attended a course of intensive lectures, participated in workshops, and engaged in discussions. Training participants became familiar with various theories of sustainable development and service design, as well as tools for their practical implementation. This exchange contributed to the development of new professional contacts, laying the groundwork for future collaboration in the field of tourism. The true value of the ENRICHER - hub project lies in its innovative and inspiring approach, allowing participants to share knowledge and ideas while simultaneously inspiring each other to create a sustainable future for tourism. Along with Comrat State University, eight other private and public universities, including leading educational and research institutions from Austria, the Republic of Moldova, Italy, and Finland, are participating in the project.
