
On January 21, 2021, the third training session for teachers titled "Service Design in Action: Experimental Teaching Methods and Tools for Enhancing Competence in Green Tourism (Case Study: Design Sprint)" started at Comrat State University as part of the "ENRICHER hubs" ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-2 project.
The training participants are project team members from partner universities: Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Finland (Haaga-Helia, HHUAS, project coordinator); Management Center Innsbruck, Austria (MCI); the University of Genoa, Italy (UniGe); as well as universities from Georgia – Caucasus University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, Telavi State University named after Jacob Gogebashvili; and universities from the Republic of Moldova – the University of European Political and Economic Studies named after Constantin Stere and Moldova State University.
The participants were welcomed by the Rector of Comrat State University, Assoc. Prof., PhD Serghei Zaharia, who highlighted the university's interest in participating in projects aimed at establishing professional contacts with foreign universities, exchanging experience, improving teaching quality, and introducing European standards and practices into the educational process at CSU.
The Rector introduced participants to the successful partnership experience within ERASMUS+ projects, shared information about the university’s international activities, and emphasized the importance of implementing the "ENRICHER hubs" project results. He expressed hope that, through the participation of the CSU team, Comrat University would successfully integrate a sustainable tourism course for students of the Faculty of Economics studying "Tourism." Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations Assoc. Prof., PhD, Svetlana Ghenova, also addressed the university's guests with a welcoming speech. She wished participants fruitful work, highlighted successful practices in the field of tourism in Gagauzia, and spoke about the main directions for the development of tourism in the region.
The training opening was attended by Irina Odnostalco, Maria Kara (Tourism Development Department, Executive Committee of ATU Gagauzia), Svetlana Gradinar (Head of the Department of Regional Policy and External Relations, Regional Development Agency of ATU Gagauzia), Liubov Mitioglo (Tekwill ICT hub), Valentina Kaleji (NGO "Pro-Europe"), and Larisa Statova (Director of "Lara Tour" Travel Agency), who are interested in the implementation of the "ENRICHER hubs" project.
Training participants had the opportunity to obtain information from the guests regarding the tourism infrastructure and development directions in the region.
Participants from Comrat University included project team members: project coordinator, Assoc. Prof., PhD Liudmila Fedotova; Prof., Dr. habil. Alla Levitskaia; Doctor Habilitat, Associate Professor of the "Private Law" Department Natalia Shchukina; Doctor, Associate Professor Snejana Musca; and Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Economics Natalia Donceva.
The training program is very intensive. In addition to lectures and practical tasks planned for the participants, the guests of Comrat University were introduced to successful practices in the field of tourism in Gagauzia. On the first day of the training, they visited the GAGAUZ SOFRASI Ethno-Tourism Complex (#gagauz_sofrasi), where they explored a new hotel complex in the center of the village of Congaz, visited a museum located on the territory of the ethno-complex, and learned about the history, customs, and traditions of the Gagauz people.
The guests were welcomed by the founder and director of the ethno-tourism complex, Anna Statova.
The training program also includes a visit to the historical part of the SA Vinuri de Comrat winery.
We remind you that the project "dEsigNing gReen tourIsm Concepts tHrough lEaRning" (ENRICHER hubs – project) ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-2 was launched on January 1, 2024. The grant holder of the project is Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland), and the international project coordinator is Nora Lappalainen. The project duration is three years.
The project is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ CBHE fund.
