International Conference European Tourism Day 2026

On January 26, 2026, lecturers and students of Comrat State University took part in the international online conference European Tourism Day 2026: Priorities and Actions of Tourism of the Republic of Moldova for the European Union, organized by the National Tourism Platform of the Republic of Moldova on the occasion of European Tourism Day 2026 held in Brussels.

The participation of the academic community of Comrat State University in this event became an important element of the university’s integration into the European tourism development agenda and a confirmation of its active role in training specialists for the tourism and service sectors. The conference brought together lecturers in economic and social sciences, as well as students enrolled in Tourism and Hospitality and related study programs.

During the conference, key priorities of European tourism policy were discussed, including:

  • tourism as a strategic sector of the economy and service exports;
  • development of competencies and human capital within the Tourism Ecosystem;
  • governance and management of tourist destinations;
  • use of data and digital tools in tourism;
  • sustainable tourism and regional development.

For CSU students, participation in the conference provided a valuable opportunity to become familiar with current European approaches to tourism development, to listen to presentations by leading international experts and representatives of tourism organizations from Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia, and Armenia, and to see the practical connection between academic disciplines and real-world tourism policy-making processes.

The participation of lecturers and students of Comrat State University in this international conference was also included in the work plan of the ENRICHER Hub as part of activities aimed at integrating education, research, and sustainable tourism practices into the European academic and professional space.
