
On October 22, 2024, within the framework of the project "Promovarea și dezvoltarea educației interculturale în formarea inițială a cadrelor didactice (EIC)," the seminar aimed to develop professional competencies of future educators in promoting intercultural education in a culturally diverse environment. The event was organized for first-year students specializing in “Pedagogical Sciences,” “Foreign Languages,” “Music,” “Primary Education Pedagogy,” and “Mathematics and Informatics.” The seminar was conducted by the department’s faculty: Assoc. Prof., PhD Maria Ianioglo;, Assoc. Prof., PhD Liudmila Chior; and Assist. Lect. Maria Vlah. Participants discussed significant topics such as modern educational concepts, intercultural education through music, and gender aspects in child-rearing. The seminar topics, pedagogical situations, tasks, and didactic methods were practical in nature, addressing various aspects of intercultural education, highlighting the challenges and perspectives in fostering intercultural competence. This includes a solid motivation to explore one's culture, a cognitive component, openness and tolerance, and the ability to interact effectively with representatives of other cultures. Participants expressed a consensus on the importance and relevance of these discussions in the professional development of educators, underlining the need for intercultural competence that embodies openness and tolerance.
