ITMF Department Held a Round Table “Prospects and Opportunities in the IT Profession”

On May 15, 2026, the Department of Information Technologies, Mathematics and Physics (ITMF) of the Faculty of Economics organized a round table titled “Prospects and Opportunities in the IT Profession.” The event brought together students of group IM-22 and IM-23 (specialty “Computer Science and Mathematics”) as well as students of groups MI-24 and MI-25 (specialty “Mathematics and Informatics”).

The event was opened by the Acting Head of the ITMF Department, university assistant and master’s degree holder G.P. Popil. A welcoming speech was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr., Associate Professor L.P. Todorici. It is noteworthy that the Dean has supported this event for the third consecutive year, confirming the faculty leadership’s interest in the initiatives of the ITMF Department and its readiness to further contribute to its development.

The Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, Dr., Associate Professor L.V. Fedotova, thanked the organizers and emphasized the high level of organization of the event as well as the importance of invited IT professionals.

Dr., Associate Professor of the ITMF Department T.G. Velikova presented the program and acted as moderator of the round table.

This round table has become a traditional annual event held by the department for the past four years, serving as a platform where alumni, practicing IT specialists, and current students meet and exchange experience.

The topics of the presentations were diverse and highly engaging.

As a guest speaker, Alexandr Buzadji, originally from Comrat and a graduate of the G. Gaidarji Theoretical Lyceum (class of 2001), was invited. He currently works at ServiceTitan (USA) as a Senior Software Engineer. Alexandr is an experienced IT professional who has worked in several international companies, including Microsoft (Canada), SOTI (Canada), Criteo (France), PSafe Tecnologia (Brazil), and Allied Testing (Moldova). His talk, “A Programmer’s Backpack,” shared many practical insights from his professional experience. Another invited guest was Victor Buzilov, IT systems administrator at the Comrat Health Center. He is also an alumnus of the department, having completed the master’s program in Applied Informatics. He delivered a presentation on “IT Infrastructure.”

Students actively engaged in discussion and asked questions, resulting in a lively and interactive dialogue.

The event also included presentations by ITMF students:

– Vladimir Leitch (MI-24), a practicing IT specialist (Backend Engineer, Java/Kotlin, Event-Driven, Cloud-Native | Financial Systems), presented “Engineering Thinking: From Zero to Product.” He participated as a speaker for the second consecutive year.

– Konstantin Uzun (IM-23), a practicing photographer and videographer, presented “How to Attract Clients via Instagram and Reels: Modern Business Promotion Tools.” He also participated as a speaker for the second year in a row.

– Vasilii Peiu (IM-23), an employee of VG GLOBAL IT company, presented “From Local Impact to Complex Products: The Practice of an IT Specialist.” This was his second year as a speaker.

– Lyudmila Oshchenkova (MI-24), presented “Free Time with Benefit: SMM.”

– Denis Karabadjac (MI-25), Database Administrator (Gymnasium of Tomai village), presented “Pocket Artificial Intelligence Without Internet and Censorship.”

Inviting practicing professionals, including department alumni, helps build a strong dialogue between academia and the real IT sector. Students learn firsthand what tasks IT specialists solve, what challenges they face, and which skills are truly in demand. For lecturers, this format is equally valuable, as it provides insight into students’ interests, projects, and independent learning activities. The feedback received opens broad opportunities for the further development of the department.

The event concluded on an inspiring note: Dr., Associate Professor R.N. Kovrikova and university assistant and master’s degree holder L.P. Kyssa warmly thanked the students for their active participation and encouraged them to continue achieving new goals.
