Teachers of the Chair of Gagauz Philology and History participated in the National Scientific Conference

On 5 April 2024, teachers of the Chair of Gagauz philology and history: Dr. Nyagova A.G., dr. Mutaf G.N., dr. Pashali P.M. participated (online) in the National Scientific Conference "Socio-cultural aspects of the Gagauz in the history of the Republic of Moldova. Integration of the Gagauz in the socio-cultural, economic, political and legal space of the Republic of Moldova", which was held at the State University of Moldova.

The conference was organised by the State University of Moldova together with the Research Centre of Gagauzia named after M. Marunevich and the Association of Historians of the Republic of Moldova.

The conference included presentations on various topics.

Elena Cristian, an employee of the Human Rights Programme, mentioned the importance of learning the state language, as well as the preservation and development of the languages of national minorities in RM is very important for the healthy integration of each ethnic and linguistic group in the society of RM. Elena also spoke about the positive result in the parallel learning of the state and native languages by children in ATU Gagauzia.

Igor Sharov rector of MSU, doctor, conf. noted the importance of holding joint scientific conferences and the integration of Gagauz into the historical, cultural and political space of RM.

Igor Bercu, Dean of the Faculty of History and Philosophy of MSU, gave a welcoming speech.

The former Moldovan Ambassador to Turkey, Doctor, Habilitat, Professor of the Moscow State University Victor Cvircun said that the Gagauz have long been integrated in all spheres of the Republic of Moldova. The 9th President of Turkey Suleyman Demirel played a great role in the establishment of peace and dialogue between Comrat and Chisinau. After his visit to Gagauzia in 1994, the degree of tension between Gagauzia and Chisinau decreased.

Ruslan Shevchenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, spoke on "Debunking myths about the history of some southern districts of Moldova".

Serghei Cornea, doctor, habilitate, university professor, rector of Cahul University made a presentation on "The Gagauz population in the Lower Danube district".

Nicolai Terzi Chairman of the Gagauz community, Doctor of Law also spoke at the conference about the need to establish a dialogue between Comrat and Chisinau. His report was entitled "Transition period in the predominantly Gagauz-populated areas of Moldova (1990-1994)".

Irina Konstantinova, Director of SIC Gagauzia named after M. Marunevich, spoke about the importance of establishing a dialogue between Comrat and Chisinau

 

Gheorghe Costandaki, Doctor of Historical Sciences spoke on "Evolution of socio-economic development of ATU Gagauz Yeri through the prism of comparative multidimensional analysis".

Nadezhda Manastirli, UNDP Coordinator, spoke about the integration of young people from ATU Gagauz Yeri into the State University of Moldova.

Stepan Bulgar, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Head of the History Department of the Gagauz Research Centre named after M. Marunevich, spoke about the integration of young people from ATU Gagauz Yeri into the State University of Moldova. M. Marunevich spoke on the topic "Gagauzians - cultural figures, scientists, outstanding personalities of Bessarabia at the end of XIX - beginning of XX centuries".

Diana Nicoglo, Assoc. prof., PhD, employee of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of RM, researcher of the Research Centre of Gagauzia named after M. Marunevici spoke about the identity of Gagauz in the press of Comrat city from the 40s to the 60s.

Svetlana Romanova, researcher of the Research Centre of Gagauzia n.a. M.Marunevich, told about the identity of Gagauz people in the press of Comrat city from 40s to 60s. M.Marunevich presented a report on "Fates of Gagauz not divided by the Prut: Mihail Petrovich Guboglu and Mihail Nikolaevich Guboglo".
