Teachers from Comrat State University, the Scientific Research Center of Gagauzia named after Maria Marunevici, in partnership with the Main Department of Culture and the Main Department of Education, successfully held a two-day international scientific and practical conference "30 Years of Gagauzia's Autonomous Territorial Unit: History, Culture, Diplomacy."
On December 17–18, 2024, the Scientific Research Center of Gagauzia named after Maria Marunevici, in partnership with the Main Department of Culture and the Main Department of Education, successfully held a two-day international scientific and practical conference titled "30 Years of Gagauzia's Autonomous Territorial Unit: History, Culture, Diplomacy." The event was attended by teachers, scholars, historians, cultural experts, diplomats, and representatives of public organizations from Gagauzia, the Republic of Moldova, and other countries. The conference was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Autonomous Territorial Unit (ATU) of Gagauzia and focused on:
- Discussing the historical path of the ATU of Gagauzia: analyzing key events, the formation of autonomy, its socio-economic development, and international relations.
- Exploring the cultural heritage of the ATU of Gagauzia: traditions, folklore, language, and literature of the Gagauz people.
- Developing diplomatic relations: discussing the prospects for international cooperation of the ATU of Gagauzia in the political, economic, and cultural spheres.
During the conference, plenary sessions and sections featured reports and discussions on various aspects of Gagauzia's history, culture, and diplomacy. Participants shared their research, exchanged views, and outlined future directions for cooperation. The conference "30 Years of Gagauzia's Autonomous Territorial Unit: History, Culture, Diplomacy" was an important event for the academic community and society as a whole. It allowed for an evaluation of the progress of the ATU of Gagauzia, identified existing problems, and outlined the prospects for further development of the autonomy.
