Music Without Borders: Concert and Cultural Exchange at Comrat State University

The first week of November is always special, as Gagauzia traditionally celebrates the Kasym holiday and welcomes guests from all over the world. For the cultural and educational sphere, this is a busy and vibrant time, with various cultural events taking place.

Traditionally, Comrat State University hosts its annual International Scientific-Practical Conference “Scientific and Educational Space: Realities and Prospects for Improving the Quality of Education” during this period.

As part of cultural exchange, performance technique analysis, and discussion of pedagogical approaches, on November 5 a solo concert was held in the assembly hall of the A. Valkov Music School by Professor Şirin Akbulut Demirci, Doctor of Musical Arts from Turkey. Works by composers such as Perihan Önder, Ece Merve Yüceer, Gökçe Ağ Karçebaş, Çiğdem Borucu, and Merve Dedeoglu were performed, featuring music by Turkish women composers.

The world of music is multifaceted and captivating. Sometimes music can speak louder and convey meaning far deeper than words.

The artistry of Şirin Akbulut Demirci was enjoyed by children from the music school, students of Comrat State University, and educators alike. In return, she received two collections of Gagauz compositions as a gift. This encounter left no listener indifferent.

Once again, music united people, nations, and countries.
