On February 19, 2025, an important cultural and scientific event took place at the House of Culture in the municipality of Comrat—the presentation of the "Büüк Gagauzça-Rusça Sözlük" = "The Great Gagauz-Russian Dictionary" in six volumes, edited by the renowned writer, poet, academician, and publicist Fedor Zanet. The dictionary contains over 56,000 words, as well as proverbs, riddles, and folk signs, reflecting the richness of the Gagauz language, its imagery, and its connection to cultural traditions. This valuable lexicographic work is an important tool for studying and promoting the native language. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to preserving spiritual values, popularizing folklore, and strengthening the cultural heritage of the Gagauz people, Fedor Zanet was awarded the Order of Gagauzia "Mihail Çakir". After the presentation, F. Zanet visited Comrat State University, where he donated several sets of the dictionary to the university. The Rector of CSU, Assoc. Prof., PhD Serghei Zaharia, , expressed his gratitude for this valuable gift and presented F. Zanet with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his contributions to the development of the Gagauz language and literature, the preservation of Gagauz cultural heritage, and the patriotic and spiritual education of youth. The Great Gagauz-Russian Dictionary will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to the development, promotion, and preservation of the Gagauz language. The project was implemented with the support of the Turkish Agency TIKA, which provided funding.
