In Gagauzia, March 2025 has been officially declared the month of Lyudmila Alexandrovna Pokrovskaya—an outstanding Turkologist and Gagauzologist, who made a significant contribution to the development of the Gagauz language and its grammar. This decision was made by the Executive Committee in connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Liudmila Pocrovscaia. In all cultural and educational institutions of Gagauzia, events are being held aimed at promoting the Gagauz language, preserving historical memory, and recognizing the merits of Liudmila Pocrovscaia in science and culture of Gagauzia. The Scientific Library of Comrat State University (CSU) also took part in the commemorative events dedicated to Liudmila Pocrovscaia. A personal exhibition has been set up in the library, entitled "Lyudmila Alexandrovna Pokrovskaya – Soviet and Russian Turkologist, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Researcher of the Language and Culture of the Gagauz People", which presents both the works of L. Pokrovskaya and literature about her life and scientific activities. For the 100th anniversary of Liudmila Pocrovscaia, the Scientific Library has prepared a "Bibliographic Index" of Pokrovskaya’s scientific works from the CSU library collection. On March 18, 2025, teachers, students of the Gagauz department, and the head of the CSU library took part in the commemorative events in Beșalma, where Liudmila Pocrovscaia is buried. Before the event, participants of the round table "Liudmila Pocrovscaia – an outstanding Turkologist, Gagauzologist" honored her memory and laid flowers at the grave of Liudmila Pocrovscaia. During the round table, reports were presented on the following topics: The significance of the scientific and pedagogical activities of Lyudmila Pokrovskaya in the study and development of the Gagauz written literary language, The creation of the film "The Gagauz of Soviet Moldova", The song creativity of the Gagauz people in the works of Pokrovskaya and many other topics. The report "Pedagogical and scientific activities of Liudmila Pocrovscaia at Comrat State University" was presented by Janna Garceva, Head of the CSU Scientific Library. The organizers of the round table were: The Main Directorate of Culture, The Central Library named after P. Draganov, The National Historical and Ethnographic Museum in Beșalma.
