Moldovan Researcher Undertakes a Fellowship at Oklahoma State University under the Fulbright Program

Dr. Anatoli Cartasev, a biologist, lecturer at Comrat State University, and researcher at the Food Technology Institute, is conducting a research fellowship at Oklahoma State University (USA) through the prestigious Fulbright Program. Dr. Cartasev's research focuses on food safety and extending the shelf life of fresh produce. At the Oklahoma State University laboratory, they are developing antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) produced by lactic acid bacteria (LAB), which can replace chemical preservatives and prevent spoilage of fresh fruits and vegetables. This innovative solution aims to reduce food waste, enhance product quality, and improve food security in Moldova. In addition to their scientific work, the fellowship includes participation in the cultural program, engaging with the American academic community, attending scientific conferences, and exchanging experiences with researchers from various countries. Dr. Anatoli Cartasev  is also involved in cultural events that promote intercultural dialogue and strengthen international ties. The Fulbright Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for advancing scientific collaboration between Moldova and the United States, opening new avenues for implementing advanced technologies in the Moldovan food industry.
