III International Staff Mobility Week Concluded at Comrat State University

From May 4 to 8, 2026, Comrat State University successfully hosted the III International Staff Mobility Week organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme. The international week brought together representatives of higher education institutions from the Republic of Türkiye, professors, researchers, and education specialists, becoming an important platform for strengthening international academic cooperation, exchanging experience, and developing intercultural dialogue.

Representatives of the following universities from Türkiye participated in the event: Karabük University, Bartın University, Necmettin Erbakan University, Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Aksaray University, Pamukkale University, Kırklareli University, Trakya University, and Düzce University.

Throughout the week, scientific conferences, academic meetings, lectures, and training activities were organized at the university. The events focused on the preservation and development of the Gagauz language, the promotion of the culture and traditions of the Turkic world, as well as the strengthening of international cooperation in education and science. Special attention was given to introducing international participants to the cultural heritage, traditions, and national celebrations of the Gagauz people.

Within the framework of the III International Staff Mobility Week programme, participants took part in events dedicated to the national holiday Hıdırellez and became acquainted with the folk traditions, customs, and cultural characteristics of Gagauzia. Representatives of partner universities also conducted a series of lectures and training sessions for students of Comrat State University, while mobility trainings were implemented in accordance with each participant’s individual academic mobility programme.

One of the significant events of the week was the lecture entitled “Traditional Handicrafts in Moldova-Gagauzia: Gagauz Weavings,” dedicated to traditional crafts and Gagauz weaving. Guests from the S. Demirel Moldovan-Turkish Lyceum of Congaz, as well as representatives of Denizli-Merkezefendi Ibrahim Cinkaya Social Sciences High School, visited Comrat State University within the framework of a joint school project between lyceums of Moldova and Türkiye.

The culmination of the international week was the final conference held at the M.V. Marunevici Scientific Research Center at the invitation of the Center’s Director, Irina Konstantinova. The conference focused on issues related to the preservation and development of the Gagauz language, cultural heritage, and national identity. During the event, participants discussed prospects for further international cooperation, joint scientific research, and educational projects.

The III International Staff Mobility Week concluded with a solemn certificate award ceremony for all programme participants. The international week once again confirmed the importance of academic mobility as an effective instrument for developing partnership relations, strengthening cultural ties, and promoting common educational values.
