From 1 September to 31 October 2026, Comrat State University hosted Mehmet Zengen, a doctoral student in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Necmettin Erbakan University, located in Konya, Türkiye.

The academic mobility provided an opportunity to conduct research in an international academic environment, exchange knowledge and experience, and strengthen cooperation between the two higher education institutions.

During his stay at Comrat State University, Mehmet Zengen conducted research focusing on relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Within the framework of his research, particular attention was paid to examining various aspects of bilateral relations and analysing the interaction between the two neighbouring countries.

An important component of the research was a questionnaire survey conducted among students of Comrat State University. The survey made it possible to collect students' opinions and assessments on the subject under investigation, as well as to obtain additional empirical data for the doctoral student's further research. Participation in the survey also provided students with an opportunity to engage in academic research activities and express their own perspectives on regional and international relations.

During the mobility period, Mehmet Zengen also had the opportunity to become acquainted with the academic environment, educational and research activities of Comrat State University, establish professional contacts and exchange experience with members of the university community.

The participation of international doctoral students in research mobility programmes represents an important component of Comrat State University's internationalisation process. Such initiatives contribute to the development of international scientific cooperation, interdisciplinary dialogue, the exchange of research experience and the strengthening of partnerships between higher education institutions in different countries.
