The lecturer from the Faculty of National Culture participated in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching program at Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Republic of Turkey

As part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching program, from December 2 to 6, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liubovi Cimpoeş from the Faculty of National Culture, Department of Gagauz Philology and History of Comrat State University, visited Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Republic of Turkey. The visit included scientific and cultural activities, experience sharing, lectures, discussions, and meetings with colleagues and students. On the first day, the Erasmus program coordinator and a DİLMER center staff member organized an introductory tour of the university's western and eastern campuses. The tour provided information about the university's founding history, structure, and activities. Later, discussions were held at the faculty and the Erasmus office. Turkish colleagues showed particular interest in learning about the autonomy of Gagauzia, Comrat State University, and the Gagauz language, cultural traditions, and scientific achievements. A meeting was also held with a colleague from Iran, Dr. Önder Saatçi, during which books were exchanged, and a fruitful discussion took place. During her visit, Liubovi Cimpoeş delivered a series of lectures for students and faculty of Isparta University. The lecture topics included:

  1. The Gagauz language in the Turkic language family: history, transition to the Latin alphabet, and current state.
  2. Gagauz oral folklore: genre classification features and a comparative analysis with Turkic folklore.
  3. The history and global settlement of the Gagauz people.
  4. Specifics of the spiritual culture of the Gagauz people: traditions, rituals, and arts.
  5. Overview of the education system in Moldova: Comrat State University as a center for addressing personnel issues in Gagauzia; studying the Gagauz language, literature, and traditions in secondary schools in Gagauzia.

The lectures sparked significant interest among the audience, who asked numerous questions and expressed a desire to delve deeper into the topics and access the author’s publications. Discussions based on the lecture material formed a foundation for new ideas and proposals for joint scientific projects. The first step was an exchange of electronic versions of books on folklore and language. Additionally, contacts were established for future cooperation and information exchange. The visit coincided with Isparta’s celebration of the 100th anniversary of statesman and 9th President of the Republic of Turkey, Süleyman Demirel. A significant part of the free time was devoted to cultural activities, including visiting the city's attractions and historical and cultural monuments. Participation in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching program was an important step in strengthening academic ties between Comrat State University and Isparta University of Applied Sciences, creating a foundation for knowledge exchange and collaborative research.
