Preparations for the Final Conference of the REFLECT Project

During September–October 2026, representatives of the partner universities of the international project REFLECT Phase II – “Quality learning through the peer-to-peer system in Moldova” held a series of online working meetings dedicated to the preparation of the project’s final conference, which will take place on 5 November 2026 in Chișinău.

The working group includes representatives of the consortium universities, the team of the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PH Zurich), the national project team, including representatives of the REFLECT working group from Comrat State University.

At the meeting held on 17 September, the main focus was on the overall concept and structure of the final conference. The partners discussed the composition of the target groups, the distribution of participants, the format of the morning working sessions and afternoon workshops, as well as ways of presenting the project results through the real experiences of participants. Particular attention was also given to ensuring that the conference would serve not only as a platform for summarising the results of REFLECT Phase II, but also for discussing the sustainability of the achieved results and the future prospects of the project.

The next working meeting, held on 28 September, was devoted to the content of the programme. The partners coordinated the topics of the five afternoon workshops, clarified their content and practical orientation, and distributed the roles of moderators and rapporteurs. Special attention was paid to avoiding overlap between workshop topics and ensuring that each workshop would address a distinct aspect of the REFLECT approach: professional learning communities and sustainability of results, peer-to-peer interaction, development of reflective competences, constructive feedback, and observation tools.

The Comrat State University team also contributed proposals regarding the content of the workshops, drawing on its experience in implementing and piloting REFLECT approaches at the university and in cooperation with representatives of education authorities.

On 20 October, another working meeting was held, the final one before the conference. At this stage, the participants clarified the final structure of the programme, the readiness of the workshops, the distribution of responsibilities between moderators and rapporteurs, the format for presenting the results of the working sessions, the content of the panel discussion, as well as organisational issues related to the conference. By the time of the meeting, all workshops had been prepared and the programme was in the final stage of coordination.

Considerable attention was also given to the upcoming panel discussion, which will bring together representatives of different project target groups — university lecturers, inspectors, teachers and mentors, students, as well as representatives at the national level.

The series of working meetings demonstrated a high level of cooperation among the partner universities and made it possible to move step by step from discussing the overall concept of the conference to coordinating its content, distributing responsibilities and resolving organisational matters.

The upcoming final conference will serve as an important platform for reflecting on the results of REFLECT Phase II, exchanging experience among different target groups, and discussing further opportunities for developing a culture of professional reflection, peer learning and constructive feedback within the education system of the Republic of Moldova.
