Application of REFLECT Elements in Education: Results and Prospects

The team of the international project REFLECT Phase II: Quality Learning through the “Peer-to-Peer” System in the Republic of Moldova has completed another stage in the implementation of the project’s objectives.

Following the training of lecturers in pedagogical specialties and the implementation of REFLECT elements, a final Follow-up event was held on November 28, 2025, organized by the members of the project’s working group. During this event, participants summarized the results, shared their experiences in applying the core ideas of non-evaluative observation of educational activities, and outlined directions for further development.

The seminar Program included the following components:

  • Project retrospective – participants recalled how the project began and how it evolved throughout all its stages;
  • Video reflection – Reels videos allowed participants to emotionally revisit the atmosphere of the previous seminars (April 24–25, 2025);
  • Map of successes and challenges – through group work, participants discussed how REFLECT elements were implemented in practice, identifying achievements and difficulties;
  • REFLECT strategies – discussion of specific methodologies applied by educators in university and school contexts;
  • Interactive activities via LearningApps – using digital tools, participants clarified and concretized the content of non-evaluative learning elements;
  • Photo reflection – a creative exercise aimed at reflecting on one’s personal journey within the project;
  • Future planning – development of recommendations for the implementation of REFLECT elements at the level of the Ministry of Education, universities, faculties, and departments.

The core idea: learning should be built on “peer-to-peer” interaction, with an emphasis on motivation as a result of non-evaluative observation and constructive feedback at all levels of education.

The next stage of the project envisages training school inspectors of the Main Department of Education of the Gagauzia Autonomous Territorial Unit in the elements of REFLECT.

We express our sincere gratitude to our colleagues for their active involvement in the educational process and their openness to adopting an alternative approach to organizing feedback during lesson observation. We also extend our appreciation to the national project manager, Mr. Marin Dolință, for his support and mentorship in the implementation of the project objectives.
