The works were carried out with financial support from the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova. A total of 2 million lei was allocated to modernise the dormitory infrastructure. The funds were used to replace the internal and external water supply and sewerage networks and to comprehensively renovate the sanitary and utility facilities.
As part of the project, the internal and external water and sewerage pipes were completely replaced. The old utilities were replaced with modern pipes made from more durable materials resistant to wear and corrosion. After installation, the new networks were connected and put into operation.
Particular attention was paid to the dormitory's sanitary areas. Plumbing fixtures, including toilets and washbasins, were replaced on the first, second and third floors, and the flooring in the sanitary facilities was renewed.
The modernisation of the shower facilities was a separate area of work. The existing shower room on the third floor was completely renovated, while a new shower room was installed on the second floor. New water heaters were fitted in both shower rooms, significantly improving the conditions for using the sanitary facilities.
The CSU dormitory can accommodate up to 420 people. The renewal of the water supply, sewerage and sanitary infrastructure is therefore directly relevant to a significant part of the university's student community. Reliable utility networks reduce the risk of emergencies caused by worn pipes and provide safer and more comfortable living conditions.
The completed works are another stage in the consistent renewal of the CSU dormitory. The Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova has previously provided funding to improve the dormitory's infrastructure and material facilities. In earlier years, with state support, the heating system was replaced, the third, fourth and fifth floors were renovated, and funds were allocated to purchase furniture and bedding.
The dormitory is thus being modernised in stages, covering not only individual rooms but also the building's key utility systems. This consistent investment policy is gradually creating a more modern and functional environment for students.
