At Comrat State University, within the framework of the National Faculty, the round table was held dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the publication of Liudmila Pocrovscaia's book "Grammar of the Gagauz Language. Phonetics and Morphology"

On October 31, 2024, at Comrat State University (CSU), within the framework of the approved Program of Activities, the Department of Gagauz Philology and History organized and held the round table in the Gagauz Language and Culture Center to mark the 60th anniversary of the publication of Liudmila Pocrovscaia's book «Grammar of the Gagauz Language. Phonetics and Morphology» (M., 1964, 298 p.). The event was attended by researchers from the Gagauzia Research Center, representatives from the Department of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, staff from the Beşalma Village Museum, CSU faculty and students, as well as representatives from educational and cultural institutions across Gagauzia. International scholars joined online, including N.M. Kalashniсova and A.V. Dybo from Russia, Assoc. Prof., PhD Bülent Hünerli from Turkey, and Artyom Fedorinchiс from Ukraine. The round table program included 15 reports where researchers presented their studies in Gagauz studies, Turkology, and ethnology. The central theme was Liudmila Pocrovscaia academic contributions, including her work on developing the Gagauz language grammar and popularizing the field. Topics such as dictionary creation and modern aspects of the Gagauz language's application were also discussed. Participants highlighted the value of Soviet Turkologists’ experience and discussed the language’s preservation within cultural and educational settings. At the conclusion, participants expressed gratitude to CSU for the high organizational level and stressed the importance of continuing similar gatherings. A final resolution with recommendations was adopted to promote further scientific collaboration and preserve Gagauzia’s cultural heritage. Faculty members of the Department of Gagauz Philology (CSU), including the Dean of the Faculty of National Culture, Assoc. Prof., PhD Oxana Curteva, along with graduate students specializing in "Teaching Gagauz Language and Literature in Pre-University Educational Institutions" (Cebotar G., Dragneva E., Cîlcik M.) actively contributed to the event’s preparation and execution.
