On February 10, 2023, a meeting of the German Ambassador to Moldova Margret Webber and the French Ambassador Paul Graham with the students from Foreign Languages Department took place at Сomrat State University. The event was organized on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Élysée Treaty, a historic treaty of friendship between the two states, which laid the foundations for European Union.

Representatives of diplomatic missions delivered a public lecture on relations and cooperation between Germany and France. The guests greeted the students and lectures in German and French, the lecture was presented in English. Students of the department of foreign languages, as well as students of non-linguistic specialties who speak English, were invited as listeners.

The meeting was held in the format of a dialogue. Participants discussed the treaty, its unique meaning and implications. At the end of the meeting, students were able to ask their questions about studying at European universities.

The students expressed their desire to continue the practice of holding such meetings, remarking the importance and interest in the information received.
