
On August 12, 2025, in China, an international non-profit organization — the Asian Academy of Sciences (AAS) — was officially registered for the first time.
On November 20–22, the elections of the first academicians and associate members of the Asian Academy of Sciences took place. This event marked the beginning of a grand journey toward the creation of a Unified Academic and Intellectual Space of Asia (UAISA). This space is intended to become a platform for fruitful scientific cooperation, free exchange of ideas, and synergistic interaction. The General Assembly was attended by 121 delegates from Asian countries, as well as from non-Asian states.
The Initiative Committee of the Asian Academy of Sciences invited the Rector of Comrat State University, Doctor, Associate Professor Serghei Zaharia, to participate in the first General Assembly.
The President of the International Asian Academy of Sciences was elected the well-known Chinese and Azerbaijani scientist, “National Top-Level Talent of China,” academician, Doctor of Geophysics, Professor Elchin Khalilov.
At the Assembly, the Rector of Comrat State University, Serghei Zaharia, was awarded the title of member of the International Asian Academy of Sciences.
Professor E. Khalilov and his spouse, Tamila Khalilova — academician, Doctor of Philosophy in Historical Sciences, Director of the Eurasian Innovation Center (China) — presented their works as a gift to the scientific library of CSU:
