A visit to the CSU Scientific Library

Scientific Library of Comrat State University

At the beginning of the academic year, the Scientific Library of Comrat State University organizes information sessions for first-year students from all faculties. These events help students take their first steps towards mastering academic knowledge and engaging in innovation and scientific research.

On October 1, 2026, first-year students in the bachelor's programme 0113.1 / 0112.1 ‘Primary Education Pedagogy. Preschool Pedagogy’, studying part-time at ISCED level 6 in the general field 011 ‘Education Sciences’, academic group ZNDP-26, visited the university's Scientific Library.

The visit was organized by Maria IANIOGLO, PhD in Education, Associate Professor and tutor of the academic group. Its main purpose was to introduce students to the library staff and familiarize them with the library's activities supporting learning, teaching and scientific research.

The visit aimed to develop an understanding of the diversity of bibliographic sources in Education Sciences, electronic resources and the media, as well as their role and importance in teaching, research, self-development and the continuing professional education of future teachers.

During the session, students were introduced to the main types of educational information sources: textbooks and teaching materials, monographs, scientific articles, collections of research papers, conference proceedings, theses and abstracts, regulatory documents, specialist academic journals, electronic educational resources and the university library's scientific databases.

During the visit, chief librarian Janna GARCIU spoke about the library's mission: ensuring access to information and knowledge by providing high-quality information resources, services and products, and developing innovative programmes to support education, scientific research and the continuing professional education of future specialists.

Particular attention was paid to the library's search system. Principal library specialist Anna CHIOSEA presented the library's page on the CSU website, briefly explaining the structure, content and search procedure of the university's Electronic Library. She also explained the library's opening hours and reading-room service rules, and described the resources supporting research and education: the book collection, periodicals and thematic collections.
