On April 1, 2025, the Head of the Scientific Library of CSU, Janna Garceva, participated in a roundtable with representatives of university libraries from the Republic of Moldova — partner institutions in the "Library Partnership between North Carolina and Moldova" project, organized at the Scientific Library of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The honorary guests of the event were: Donna Flake, coordinator of the interlibrary partnership between medical and university libraries in North Carolina and the Republic of Moldova, and Irina Rusanovschi, president of the International Center for Cooperation and Development "Phoenix" in the Republic of Moldova. The meeting was held in connection with the expansion of cooperation and the inclusion of new participants in the project. Moldovan librarians spoke about the history of the interlibrary partnership between 12 medical libraries, which began in 2006, and the formation of a new partnership between college and university libraries in 2018, when six Moldovan librarians visited libraries in North Carolina as part of the Open World program, with indirect support from the Secretary of State of North Carolina, Mrs. Elaine Marshall. University librarians discussed the impact of international cooperation and the need to formalize the Interlibrary Partnership. Currently, the cooperation focuses on three aspects: sharing experience and best practices in library work, donating books and journals, and international sharing of scientific articles. Representatives of the university libraries of the Republic of Moldova expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Donna Flake for her enthusiastic and responsible coordination of the partnership, to Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, Laura Sinigur, the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, the World Children’s Fund, Mrs. Irina Rusanovschi, the Rotary Club of North Carolina, and all partner institutions and volunteers from North Carolina. The roundtable was organized as part of Donna Flake’s working visit to Chișinău from March 28 to April 7, 2025.
