Book Donation to the Scientific Library of CSU

From December 15 to 18, the Rector of Comrat State University (CSU), Doctor, Associate Professor Serghei Zaharia, paid a study visit to Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB), Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the capacity of national experts of the Republic of Moldova in developing and implementing multilingual education, with an emphasis on promoting the Romanian language as the state language and preserving minority languages within the education system.

Participants:

Heads and experts of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, as well as representatives of universities involved in teacher training and professional development:
1. Moldova State University
2. “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University
3. “Alecu Russo” State University of Bălți
4. Comrat State University
5. Taraclia State University
6. Representatives of the OSCE in the field of education and science in Moldova.

Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB), Cluj-Napoca, Romania, is a well-established example of multilingual higher education in Romania and in the wider Central and Eastern European region.

Its institutional structure includes three official languages of instruction — Romanian, Hungarian, and German — reflecting the multicultural context of Transylvania.

During the visit, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between Comrat State University and Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB), Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

At a meeting with the Rector of the University, Prof. univ. dr. habil. Elena Platon, books on Romanian linguistics, literature, and ethnography were donated to the Scientific Library of CSU. These publications will serve as valuable educational and methodological support in the study of the Romanian language.
