From September 1 to November 28, 2025, Comrat State University successfully hosted the Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Traineeships of Orhan Çiçek, the doctoral student from Pamukkale University (Republic of Türkiye).
During the three months of his stay, Orhan actively worked on gathering materials for his doctoral dissertation, conducted research related to the grammar of the Gagauz language, and explored the culture, history, and social life of Gagauzia. Throughout his traineeship, he visited towns and villages across the autonomy, met with local residents, familiarized himself with the linguistic features of the region, and gained a deeper understanding of Gagauzia’s cultural diversity — significantly enriching his academic work. In addition to his research activities, Orhan Çiçek became an integral part of the academic life of Comrat State University. He regularly took part in university events and contributed to the educational process by conducting optional Turkish language courses for students from various faculties. For him, this experience was a valuable opportunity to teach Turkish to foreign students, and for our students — an excellent chance to learn the language from a native speaker, discover Turkish culture, and practice real communication.
During the final meeting with the University Administration and the International Relations Department, Orhan shared his impressions of his stay in Moldova and expressed sincere gratitude to the university staff for their support, attention, and warm hospitality. He emphasized that the time spent in Comrat was an important stage in his academic and personal development. The Rector of Comrat State University presented Orhan Çiçek with a participation certificate and a letter of appreciation for his contribution to the development of scientific and educational cooperation between Türkiye and the Republic of Moldova, for fostering cultural diplomacy, and for his active involvement in bilateral projects within the university’s internationalization policy.
Comrat State University expresses its sincere gratitude to Orhan Çiçek for his fruitful work, active engagement in university life, and significant contribution to strengthening international cooperation. We wish him continued success in his research and professional activities and look forward to future joint projects!
