The Rector of Сomrat State University, Dr. Assoc. Prof. Serghei Zaharia has signed an agreement to implement a project for the installation of a solar power station on the university campus within the framework of the "Solar Energy: Green Campus" initiative.
The project aims to:
- Reduce dependence on traditional energy sources;
• Decrease carbon dioxide emissions;
• Improve energy efficiency and resilience during the energy crisis;
• Promote ecological awareness among students and faculty;
• Achieve long-term savings on electricity costs.
The university is responsible for the engineering design, technical analysis, and equipment selection, and is actively promoting the project publicly, highlighting the contribution of partners and the support of the Republic of Poland.
This initiative is being implemented within the framework of the project “Support for the Development of Infrastructure at Comrat State University (Phase III)”, with financial support from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Poland.
The total budget of the project is €16,500.
More than 1,650 students and 150 staff members will directly benefit from the project, gaining not only a more sustainable energy environment, but also new opportunities for education, research, and involvement in the development of green infrastructure.
