RESULTS OF COUNTRY-SPECIFIC GENDER EQUALITY PROJECTS PRESENTED WITHIN THE ERIK PROJECT

On 26–27 January 2026, within the framework of the ERIK — Equality, Rights and Inclusion Knowledge project, implemented with the financial support of the Swedish Institute and the Swedish Academy for Young Professionals (SAYP) and coordinated by Linköping University (Sweden), participants from Armenia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine presented the results of their group projects developed under Module 1 – Foundation of Gender Equality in the EU Context.

Within Objective 1, participants presented analyses of the state of gender equality in their respective countries, covering political representation, legal and institutional frameworks, access to education, gender-based violence, and budgetary support for gender equality initiatives. A comparative analysis was also conducted using the experience and data of Sweden and Poland.

Based on the analysis, participants identified key challenges and gaps in the field of gender equality in their countries and developed context-specific recommendations, taking into account national characteristics and best European practices.

Within Objective 2, participants from each country presented case studies on the implementation of European Union gender equality policies, including the EU Gender Equality Strategy 2020–2025 and gender mainstreaming mechanisms within EU institutions. Particular attention was paid to assessing the possibilities for adapting European experience to the national contexts of Armenia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine.

The presentation of project results served as a platform for exchange of experience and discussion of both common and country-specific challenges in the field of gender equality among the Eastern Partnership countries.
