On October 22, 2024, a meeting took place between the wrestling team of Comrat State University and the CSU Rector, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Serghei Zaharia where they discussed the athletes' preparation for upcoming competitions. The preparation plan, approved by the Federation of Student Sports and Veterans of the Republic of Moldova, was also presented at the meeting and has been actively implemented by the CSU team. On October 23, 2024, the students, under the guidance of Angela Polevaia-Secerianu, Assoc. Prof., Dr., and International Judo Master, participated in the championship, which was held at the sports complex of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the Republic of Moldova.
Yurii Diacov won the gold medal in the weight category up to 70 kg, and Artem Calciu won the silver medal in the weight category up to 55 kg. Bronze medals were awarded to Dmitrii Tabunchic in the 95 kg category and Vadim Covalja in the 85 kg category. In the overall standings, the CSU team ranked third among six university teams from the Republic of Moldova. On behalf of the CSU team, we express our gratitude to Rector Assoc. Prof., Dr., Sergei Zaharia and the Dean of the Faculty of National Culture, Assoc. Prof., Dr., Oxana Curteva, for their support, which helped uplift the team spirit and represent the university with honor in the competition.
