At Comrat State University, Valentine's Day was celebrated: an atmosphere of love and friendship

On February 14th, 2025, an interesting event dedicated to St. Valentine’s Day was held at the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of Comrat State University. It was organized for the students of groups AN-24 and RA-24, who prepared an exciting programme with interactive games, interesting presentations where. The event took place in an atmosphere of friendship and warmth. The main goal of this lesson was to introduce students to the history of St. Valentine’s Day, its origin, traditions and customs in different countries. The organizers also wanted to create an atmosphere of friendly communication, develop students’ creative and logical thinking through interactive tasks, and strengthen team spirit.

Olga Econom opened the lesson with presenting a report on the traditions of St. Valentine’s Day. She informed about how this holiday is celebrated in different countries, what symbols are associated with it and how the ways of expressing feelings have changed over the centuries. Olga Krudu supplemented the report with the theme of the origin of the holiday, immersing the audience in ancient history. Students learned the legend of Saint Valentine, who secretly married lovers, and how St.Valentine’s Day has become a part of world culture. Tatyana Kyvyrzhik prepared an interactive game where participants had to go through a labyrinth and choose the correct answers related to the holiday. Anastasia Novak delighted everyone with a creative task – a crossword puzzle and letters on which participants could write wishes to each other. Türkü Irem and Ezer Elvan presented a set of slides, a crossword puzzle and a special part – a love letter from the past, when declarations of love were written on paper and sealed with wax. Diana Uzun also made her contribution by offering participants another crossword puzzle, which helped test their knowledge on St. Valentine’s Day. Svetlana Esir created a fascinating presentation about interesting facts about celebrating Valentine’s Day in different parts of the world. In her turn, Svetlana Popa prepared a task that contained English idioms dedicated to love. The task was to find and match the Russian equivalents of these expressions with the English examples. All participants coped with this task brilliantly.

The event was not only educational, but also heartfelt. It reminded everyone that Valentine’s Day is not just a holiday for lovers, but another reason to say kind words to friends, express gratitude and share warmth. St. Valentine’s Day is a holiday shrouded in an atmosphere of love, sincerity and good feelings. This is the day when people all over the world confess their sympathies, give valentine cards and simply remind each other how important it is to appreciate the loved ones. It teaches us to notice beauty in simple things – in a kind smile, in a caring gesture, in a sincere wish for happiness. St. Valentine’s Day is a reminder that love is present in every moment of our lives, if we are ready to see it and give it without waiting anything in return.
