A cultural and educational event dedicated to the work of the poet Mihai Eminescu, his place in literary history, and his influence on the development of the Romanian language was held at Comrat State University.

The event was attended by and featured speeches from: CSU Rector Serghri Zaharia, Consul General of Romania in Cahul Mr. Gabriel Nicola, Head of the Interethnic Relations Policy Service of the Ministry of Education and Research I. Duminica, Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Chișinău M. Babuc, Director of the Onisifor Ghibu Library, literary critic V. Railianu, poet, playwright and folklorist Iulian Filip, writer, publicist and journalist G. Budeianu, as well as university students and academic staff.

Students of the Faculty of National Culture prepared a creative program and performed a short concert based on Eminescu’s works.

An important part of the meeting was the enrichment of the university’s collections. The Scientific Library of CSU received a valuable donation of books and journals covering various fields of culture, including theatre, folk traditions, ballet, folklore, fiction, philology, and history.

Poet Iulian Filip donated a selection of his authored books to the library, while writer Georghe Budeianu presented a copy of his collection of journalistic essays, “Evadați în libertate”.

The event was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gina Aurora Necula of the Romanian Language Institute and Lecturer Dr. A. Sacara.
