A book presentation was held at Comrat State University “Nicolai Tufar: seçmӓ yaratmalar”

On May 11, Dr. of History, Associate Professor of Political Science, publicist, author of scientific works, writer, poet, Honored Educator and Honorary Citizen of Gagauzia, Nicolai Harlampievichi TUFAR (11.05.1935–31.07.2017), would have turned 90 years old.

To commemorate this date, the Gagauzia Scientific Center named after Maria Marunevici prepared and published a collection of scientific and literary works by Nicolai Harlampievici. The presentation took place on May

12, 2025, in the conference hall of CSU. The collection includes selected monographs, articles, short stories and poems, and photographs of N. Tufar.

Those who worked on the publication include his wife L.N. Tufar and staff of the Research Center: K. Barbova, T. Kiryakova, M. Bass, D. Palachor. The event was attended by his wife Liudmila Nikolaevna and daughter Nadejda, Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova I. Köksal, Rector of CSU, Assoc. Prof., PhD Serghei Zaharia, students, teachers of CSU, staff of the Marunyevici Center, librarians, museum representatives, employees of Comrat City Hall, and public figures. In their speeches, Rector. SERGHEI ZAHARIA, MP I. KÖKSAL, scientific secretary V. BOYKOV, center employee K. BARBOVA, municipal councilor V. KYSSE, and researcher S. ROMANOVA highlighted Nicoli Harlampievici’s contributions to research on the history of Moldova and Gagauzia, the development of the Gagauz language, and the training of scientific staff at CSU during his work as

Vice-Rector for Science and Associate Professor. His wife Liudmila Nikolaevna’s contribution to the book was also noted.
Liudmila Nicolaevna and their daughter Nadezhda spoke about what Nicolai Harlampievici was like in the family — his intelligence, modesty, honesty, erudition, diligence, perseverance, and his desire to help others. He loved the Gagauz language deeply and wrote poems, prose, and scientific works in it.

Via video link, his son Nicolai Nicolaevichi addressed the attendees. He followed in his father's footsteps, earned a Ph.D. in Turkic philology, and co-authored with his father the scientific books “The Comrat Republic. 1906” (2009) and “Essays on the History of the Gagauz. The Comrat Story. 1906. The Oghuz State of the 9th–10th centuries” (2015) in Russian and Gagauz.

Representatives of the Comrat City Hall, Chair of the Municipal Council G. Vlah, and Chair of the Council of Elders A. Bratunova presented the wife and daughter of Nicolai Tufar with a Resolution on conferring the title of “Honorary Citizen of Comrat” (posthumously) to Nicolai Harlampievici Tufar for his many years of faithful service and significant contribution to education and upbringing of the younger generation.
A personal exhibition of Nicolai Tufar’s works was prepared by the scientific library staff.

The book was published in 300 copies and will soon be distributed to the libraries of Gagauzia.
