
A series of zonal conferences was held in Moldova, organized by the National Library of the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with library centers and local public authorities.
On October 23, 2025, the Public District Library of Ceadîr-Lunga hosted the regional professional meeting “Libraries – Contribution to Community Transformation through Reader Education,” organized within the 8th edition of the Lectura Central National Program. The program aims to strengthen the role of libraries in promoting reading, sharing successful practices, and enhancing the importance of libraries as community centers.
The event was organized by the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, the Ion Creangă Children’s Library, and the Center for Continuing Professional Education in Library and Information Sciences of the NLRM.
Participants included library representatives from the southern region: Comrat, Taraclia, Basarabeasca, librarians from the Ceadîr-Lunga district, the librarian of the V. Moșkov Technical College, as well as the chief specialist for culture and education of the Ceadîr-Lunga District Administration. Comrat State University was represented by the Head of Library, Janna Garceva.
After the discussion of key professional topics, the participants also became acquainted with the poetic works of N. D. Tanova, Director of the District Library of Taraclia.
Such professional meetings improve communication, help solve problems, encourage the exchange of ideas, and increase motivation.
